How to remove the annoying Google Search bar from your Android's home screen...

That bar takes up the room that could be put to better use by displaying app icons or more of your beautiful wallpaper which many android users may find very annoying.
But the main question here is:

Why Google doesn’t want you to remove the Google Search bar?

Because Google actually wants you to use the Google Search, and it’s also because of Google Now. Google wants you to use this service as much as possible. Taking that Google Search bar and its microphone button off your home screen would likely affect that.

How to remove the Google Search bar?

The process of removing the Google Search bar is easy, but the process differs in every device. On Samsung and LG handsets, you could just remove it like you would remove any other home screen widget. On Sony Xperia and many other handsets, however, this process doesn't work.
To remove the Search bar in Sony handsets:

  • Tap and hold the Google Search bar, a new menu will appear.
  • At the top of the screen will be the Google Search bar, and on the right side it will say Hide and tap Hide.
  • Tap your home or return button.
  • The Google Search bar should now be hidden.

  • Another simple way to get rid of the Google Search bar is to simply install a custom launcher in your smartphone such as Nova Launcher or Apex Launcher. These launchers can completely customize Android to look and work the way you want it to.

Or you can always root your phone

This won’t come as a surprise, if you root your phone you can easily get rid of the Google Search bar.
If you don’t already know about what rooting is, it’s when you grant yourself complete control over your phone at the root level. A rooted Android is almost infinitely customizable, and once you’ve rooted your device almost any custom ROM will let you uninstall the Google Search app.

New XIAOMI MI 5 hits the Android market...

    Snapdragon 820 / 3GB RAM / 32GB UFS 2.0 Flash
    4-axis OIS camera / 3D glass body

The android smartphone market has been saturated with over-sized 5.5-inch smart devices over the few past years. Smaller devices have rarely come having all the specifications and features of those bigger phones, and the Mi 5 is a pleasant surprise to all android lovers.
As Mi 5 is smaller than most of its competitors, it also is significantly lighter, weighing in at just 129g. Whereas, the Samsung Galaxy S7 comes in at 152g & the HTC 10 weighs 161g. The weight doesn't make much difference unless you hold it for a significant period of time.

The Ultimate Backup Tool that Doesn’t Require Root

If you currently own a rooted Android device, or flashed a custom ROM, chances are you’ve taken at least one nandroid based or titanium based backup of your system settings and application data. As you know, in order to take either of these backups, root access is required.
What about if you want to unlock your bootloader after you’ve been using your device for several months? Since it’s unlikely that you would already have root access, you were forced to lose this precious data.
Well not anymore. Thanks to XDA Forum Member Gigadroid, a Windows based tool is now available for taking full backups without root access. This tool backs up apps, apps data and information stored on the SD card, just like Titanium Backup would do with root access. It should be noted that this isn’t exactly like a nandroid backup or a snapshot of your device, but it will effectively backup all the important stuff.
So far the tool has only been tested on a Galaxy Nexus, but it should work on devices running Android 4.0+. So if you’re device isn’t rooted, and you would like to back up your app data, this tool might be for you.

Smartphone market dominated by android again

Android smartphones outsold Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) iOS smartphones nearly three to one last quarter, according to numbers released by technology research firm Gartner today. Android comprised 64 percent of the worldwide smartphone market share, compared to 19 percent belonging to iOS. And get this, Apple enthusiasts, Samsung sold by far the most smartphones—nearly 100 million of them, compared to nearly 30 million sold by Apple.
During Apple’s best iPhone quarter, Q1 of 2012, the company moved 33M iPhones—an impressive feat considering there are only three models. Now, during Android’s best quarter, there were 98M units sold. There is simply no comparison.
Clearly Android phones are dominating the smartphone market, but mobile app developers commonly unveil their products on the iPhone or iPad first, then create a version later for Android. Instagram did not arrive on Android phones for nearly a year and a half after the iPhone app’s release. Angry Birds took a year to get to Android.
Apple may be where the money is, but Android is where the people are. There may be legitimate reasons why developers pick iOS over Android, but entrepreneurs have to go where the customers are. Smartphone customers have clearly chosen Android.
